[00:00:00] Hey badass. I am very excited today to break down how I get to make 15 to 30k per month working just 12 hours per week. Now, I know this sounds clickbaity and I say this with a grain of salt because I know there's a lot of shitty content out there telling you that you can work for two hours a day and become a millionaire overnight in just six weeks and I only work three seconds per day and I'm able to generate 60, 000 per month. You need to buy my course to learn how, right? I'm very, very aware of the scammy side of the internet, passive income claims, et cetera, et cetera. However, As clickbaity as this sounds, it is true.
[00:00:40] Well, it is and it isn't. Okay, so I don't actually work just 12 hours per week because I don't want to. I have started a whole nother business, I'm working on empires, etc. But I could, okay? So what I'm talking about here is badass careers. So if I hadn't decided to launch, [00:01:00] grow, a whole new business, brand, website, podcast, course, private coaching. If I hadn't decided to do all of that over on Badass Empires, and I had just doubled down on Badass Careers, absolutely, that business, bringing in 15 to 30k per month, Just working personally.
[00:01:18] I personally work on that today about like I've averaged it out. I've done the numbers about five hours per week and I was thinking to myself, okay, with the business being built now, if I were a solopreneur, if I was doing everything myself, I didn't have a team and I just had to run the business now doing what I'm doing, you know, in this business model, I've estimated about 12 hours per week it would take me and work.
Breaking Down the Business Model
[00:01:42] So. Firstly, Badass Careers is a self study course only business. So I have no client work anymore. So that's something that you need to keep in mind. In my calculation, I've assumed that I could keep creating content for that brand in the way that I currently do.
[00:01:59] And the way [00:02:00] that I currently do is spending a few days on it every three months. So once per quarter of the year, every three months, once per business quarter. I will batch content. And so I thought to myself, okay, if I didn't have my team, how long would I need? And because obviously I am experienced and I know what I'm doing when it comes to content, I estimated that I could get everything done in about five days.
[00:02:23] What would that look like?
Content Creation Strategy
[00:02:24] So every three months I post every single day in terms of Instagram reels. Okay. So I've like, okay, let's talk about 90 reels. I need to create 90 reels. That's what I'm playing for. So on one day. I would spend the day researching, writing, identifying reels to repurpose. I would identify the 90 topics and flesh out a few bullet points.
[00:02:47] You know, what exactly am I going to be creating? In terms of these 90 content pieces, in terms of the concepts, in terms of the messages I want to get across, then I would spend [00:03:00] one day filming. So I would film about 45 face to camera reels. That's that kind of education talking head reel style, where you're actually hearing me and see my face, my voice, my gestures, and so on and so forth.
[00:03:13] They're around about five minutes each to film because they end up being. Anywhere from, say, 45 seconds to a minute and a half long. So, they take me about 5 minutes each to film in total. So, if we do the math on that, that's about 4 hours of filming face to camera reels, 45 of them. And then I would spend a few hours getting fresh B roll footage.
[00:03:35] B roll footage being those shots of me, you know, stock footage essentially. working at my desk, uh, creating a podcast episode, walking down the street, playing with bonbon, whatever it is, but I'd spend a few hours getting fresh b roll footage. So that would be one day of filming once per quarter. Then I would spend two whole days in the studio.
[00:03:56] Editing them, captioning them, and then one day [00:04:00] scheduling them. Now, I might not get through absolutely every single reel, but I will definitely have lots of spaciousness and pretty much have that sussed. So, if I'm spending 40 hours Per quarter on content batching that works out to about six hours per week and then on top of that I would spend one to one and a half hours per day on emails comments dms and posting on instagram stories Okay, so this is a theoretical world It's a world I don't want to be in because I like working with a team and I want to you know There are different things that i'm working on and different things that I want to do to run my business and i'm always creating You New projects, new things to do, and that kind of thing, but if we're talking about the simplest business model, the actual business model of your ability, if you wanted to, to work 12 hours per week and make 15 to 30k per month, it's happened, right?
[00:04:55] Like, it's like, I've cracked it. I could if I wanted to. And then in reality, [00:05:00] In this business model, let's say I was a solopreneur. So 15 to 30k per month, I probably can't afford to have, um, more advanced, you know, top tier talent in the market, strategic profiles, but I totally could afford, you know, maybe one part time video editor or a VA who takes care of most of, you know, the, the comments and the admin for me or something like that.
[00:05:22] Okay. So that could be a very reasonable existence for me right now.
Scaling Up: From 15k to 50k per Month
[00:05:28] Then if I wanted to earn more so an average of 30 to 50k per month instead of 15 to 30k per month all I need to do over at Badass Careers is launch three or four times a year which is a specific dedicated marketing campaign pulling off a big Big launch to my program, basically having a big party, celebrating your program.
[00:05:48] You might have some sort of live event, challenge, webinar, whatever it is. And you enroll lots of people at the same time. It's a massive cash injection. And I obviously have those skills to be able to pull [00:06:00] off these launches. I have launched many, many, many times now over the past five years. So if I actually wanted my average to look more so like 30 to 50 K per month.
[00:06:10] I would launch and that would take around about a full week of dedicated prep. I would probably use, you know, the same masterclass over and over at this point, um, because I can, I can get away with that. And it would just be, you know, making sure that we've got our launch emails, the webinar, everything ready to go.
[00:06:28] Um, and just setting up all of the backend logistics and tech around that. So this isn't crazy unrealistic, right? This could be a possibility. Okay. And if you think about it, like life's pretty sweet, right? You know, that would be about a half a million dollar business per year, working about 15 hours a week on average, including the launch hours.
[00:06:49] Right. And very, very large profit margins. So it's a thing, it's a possibility.
The Reality Behind the Success
[00:06:56] Now, the thing that annoys me [00:07:00] when people talk about this online is they act like this can happen. From the get go. Like that this is a business model and that you can get started as a beginner In this business model, and that's just simply not true So as per the promise of this episode, I promise that i'll tell you how i've gotten to the point how I make 15 to 30k per month working 12 hours per week or how I could if I wanted to let's put it that way So how has this happened?
[00:07:32] How is this possible? Well, firstly I've been doing this for five years and that means many things. It means that I have the skills to make me fast, efficient at content, for example, at batching my content. I know what I'm doing. I know how to film. I know how to pull it off. I can literally create quite easily three months worth of content in less than a week.
[00:07:55] Like that is just totally within the realm of possible for me these [00:08:00] days. Also, with five years, comes time, and over time, through showing up, through my consistency, Through providing value. I have generated trust. I have generated a reputation. I have generated those intangible things, that connection, giving people all of these wins for free over many, many years.
[00:08:26] That creates a dynamic where eventually over time, a lot of people, whether it takes one day, one month, one year, three years, but a lot of people eventually will purchase my program over time. But sometimes, you know, you do just need that consistent relationship being built, that consistent connection for that.
[00:08:52] Trust and that gratitude to build over time. So I've arrived here over time through that consistent action. So [00:09:00] that's just the prerequisite. Now it's also possible because of my business model. So when I was talking through where I'd be sitting in my time, I didn't have any client work to do. And that's because I offer self study courses over at Badass Careers.
[00:09:20] Now, what does it take to not only sell self study courses where you aren't providing any support for someone, you aren't providing any human connection, you aren't coaching them, they don't have the opportunity to work with you directly, what does it take to sell a self study course and sell enough of them to make 15 to 30k per month?
[00:09:43] A lot of things. It takes a lot of social proof and testimonials. People saying, this works and I've had incredible results using this methodology. And that methodology has been honed over many years from me working with private clients. [00:10:00] For over a year, then scaling to a group coaching program, same methodology, but they needed me less, right?
[00:10:07] They needed me less because I had developed so many tools and amazing materials in the curriculum by that point that it was so supportive that on the calls I could answer five people's questions and then eventually, you know, packaged up the missing pieces and the frequently asked questions, put it back into the course, improved the curriculum, and then I was able to handle it.
[00:10:27] 10 people on a group coaching call 20 people on a group coaching call 30 people on a group coaching call because the questions were so largely answered within my curriculum over many updates, many improvements, many iterations that I was able to step back and then I had the confidence to say, you know what?
[00:10:51] Everyone's questions have pretty much been answered. A hundred times before, it's in the curriculum, it's in the materials now, [00:11:00] people can get results by themselves. They don't need me anymore. They don't need me to personally answer their specific question because it's already been preempted and answered within the course.
[00:11:15] So All of this needs to come together in order to have a course that sells because when you are selling the course, especially if you're using things like an evergreen funnel, you need so many people to say, Do it. It's worth it. It works. It's incredible for you because you're not there. That relationship's not there.
[00:11:38] And so it better freaking work, you know, and then when your courses work really well, like mine do, you get the referrals, you get that word of mouth as well. You have that reputation. So again, I've put in the work to refine that methodology and get people results and I made sure they were getting results because I was there.
[00:11:57] And then I made sure they could get results when [00:12:00] I'm not there as well. And there are many, many success stories of, hey, Rosie has packaged her genius into this program. You don't need her anymore. This is enough. You're going to get results. So that's that context for those being able to sell.
The Importance of Marketing Excellence
[00:12:15] I've also over time honed in my marketing excellence.
[00:12:21] I'm a master at messaging. I know my ideal client sometimes better than they know themselves. I call out their true desires, their blind spots. I call out things that they didn't even realize were their true problem. So. Now that I know this person through working with them, through studying them, through being with them, and coaching them.
[00:12:44] When I create content, I'm in their head. I am, they feel like I have been, you know, listening to the voice notes that they've been sending their best friend. And that again takes time and getting to know people at that deepest level. [00:13:00] Also, when it comes to marketing excellence, a lot of people will look at our funnels and say, Wow, you've got amazing funnels.
[00:13:05] You've got amazing webinars. And I've seen people try to copy them and rip them off and that kind of thing. And they can spend their time doing that, but it will never ever work for them. Because my ideal client isn't their ideal client. My ideal client uses different language to maybe the language that their clients use.
[00:13:23] My client responds to a very specific tone and message and things that I say and even don't say that potentially their clients don't need to hear. And I know that because I have launched, when I think about the career glow up, I think I've launched that program at least 10 times, at least 10 times pulling off the content messaging, the sales messaging, the, the launch events.
[00:13:51] And Analyzing the data, the conversion rates, when do people drop off? You know, when did engagement peak? When did it [00:14:00] dip? I'm able to have all of this data through mastery of launching and through that, packaging that knowledge up into evergreen funnels that sell for me in my sleep. But the work's not done.
[00:14:14] It's not sit and forget. Every single month, we are in our funnels, analyzing what's working, what's not working, and why. Have things changed? Have things changed in terms of the way consumers are interacting with these products? You know, pre recorded masterclasses. What time slots are people signing up to and why?
[00:14:33] What kind of things do we need to tweak and offer that's going to enhance the conversion rate in the face of continuous change in people's perceptions, attitudes, and consumer behavior as well. So I also know what it takes to tweak funnels, have people a very supportive backend nurturing system that delivers automated emails and messages to these [00:15:00] people at the right time, at the right moment when they needed to hear it most.
[00:15:04] Okay. So again, you become excellent at marketing through doing a lot of marketing and trying out a lot of things and analyzing a lot of data and figuring it all out. So when I'm saying how I get to earn this much and work so few hours every single week, I'm saying that.
Final Thoughts: Building a Sustainable Business
[00:15:24] Off the back of someone who has absolutely created that level of freedom and privilege through consistent action, showing up, making smart decisions, looking at the data and really honing in on the business model.
[00:15:41] So the answer to how I get to have that immense freedom and privilege and overall pinch me level. Of opportunity in life in my business, it comes down to time [00:16:00] needed to build skills, right? They're just skills, but they are skills that take time and energy to perfect, to master, and to really feel natural and confident with.
[00:16:13] Some things simply take time. I think another big reason why, how I get to do this, Integrity. I've worked with people. I've tried my methodology out on a huge range of people, huge amount of diversity. And when I say that this can work with you without a coach's support, I mean it and I know it. And then the third reason how that gets to happen for me, honestly, just like fucking hard work, just really hard work.
[00:16:41] You know, it's just doing what you say, you will showing up every day, learning, learning, learning, testing, trying, failing, fucking up, trying again. And you just keep going. So I know that isn't the sexiest message, but you absolutely need to learn to walk before you run. We all need [00:17:00] to learn how to walk before we can run.
[00:17:03] And that is why if you try to start a cute little Instagram account and create some kind of evergreen funnel, quote unquote, and sell a self study course, you're probably going to be bitterly disappointed. Unless you get really lucky and you go super viral several times and you manage to make, you know, a few sales, but then the virality stops and you're sort of screwed again.
[00:17:29] It always comes back to the same message, right? Walk before you run. Get the fundamentals right. Build the personal brand. Love your ideal clients. Know them better than they know themselves. Have the sense of service excellence. Do whatever it takes to get people results. You're going to put far more in at the beginning and you're going to have a disproportionate amount of generosity that you're putting into this coaching relationship, but it will be worth it.
[00:17:59] For [00:18:00] your learning, your confidence, and the results that people are coming back with on the backend. And I've always said to myself that I'm willing to go hard for five years, for 50 years of freedom. So if I go hard and I do all of this and I build this personal brand and I've shown up and I've done this work and I've launched and I've launched and I've launched and I've created funnels and I've tweaked these funnels and I've, I've developed these courses and I've done all of these things.
[00:18:27] Over the past five years, well, that's why, if I wanted to, for the next 50 years of my life, I could live a very happy, chill, financially free existence. It really is because of that. But also, let's get realistic for a second. If we zoom right out, five years is not that much time. It really isn't. I have been in jobs I didn't like for two years.
[00:18:52] Boom, two years of my life. Yeah, of course, there's like lessons and things you can extract from that. But, you know, five years. is [00:19:00] kind of a blip on your entire career story. Our careers are what, like 45 years long? So five years for a significant career pivot, upskilling so hard, you've got more skills than an MBA could ever, and creating a life for yourself that no one else has.
[00:19:24] In terms of that beautiful sweet spot of purpose, profit, freedom. I mean, if you ask me, would I do it all again? The answer is, I'd do it smarter. I'd do it better. I'd do it in the way that I'm teaching my clients now. But yeah, you know what? I would. Because this feeling of having so many options. to live a stress free life is priceless.
[00:19:51] But you know me, I'm always going to choose the stress, but I'm going to, you know, I've got my dreams. I'm over here building empires. My purpose is [00:20:00] huge. I have this burning desire to help people and I really, really wanted to build empires, but it's always nice knowing that I have the option. And I also know that with badass empires, these options and that sense of ease and freedom.
[00:20:16] Are also just about to click in place. It's all part of a wider master plan So I hope that you found this episode helpful I would love to hear your thoughts and reflections send me a dm over on instagram And let me know a little bit about where you're at in your journey and what you're willing to do And how you're willing to show up over the next five years for your 50 years of freedom.
[00:20:44] And until the next episode, stay bad ass, keep building the empire of yours. And we will talk very soon.
